Happy Holi

Holi is one of the major festival of India and is the most vibrant of all. The joys of Holi knows no bound. The festival is celebrated across the four corners of India or rather across the globe. The festival is filled with so much fun and frolic that the very mention of the word 'Holi' draws smile and enthusiasm amongst the people. Holi also celebrates the arrival of Spring, a season of joy and hope. 
Holi is one of the oldest festivals of India. There are many interesting stories associated with the festival's origin as one moves across the different states from North to South and East to West. Paintings and scriptures depict the roots of the festival. Mythology plays a very important part in narrating the festival of Holi. The most popular stories of Holi origin relates to 'Holika Dahan' and Legend of Radha-Krishan.

Cactus Garden Sailana

From the entrance it self the magic of the cactus land starts embracing you into is wondrous and magnanimous sizes . You will keep yourself busy in taking twists and turns just to ensure you are not lost in beauty of the thorns. See all the thorns in all different forms shapes and sizes some flowers and thorns or some thorns in shape of flowers and what not.
This is Asia's oldest cactus garden and one among the two in india other one is in panchkula .MP is really lucky to have it this is the real heritage of MP

This garden houses over 1200 species of cactus, with only 50 species being Indian, is considered to be the largest one in Asia. Some of the important species of cactus present at this garden include bell cactus, bulb cactus snake cactus, old man cactus, peacock feather cactus, etc. This place is also popular for its culinary tradition.
Fees was Rs.10 which is nothing when you see the magnanimity of the cactus's there

Its located in the small town ship of Sailana few kms away from ratlam .To Sailana : Pick a taxi or they have local buses running frequently to go to sailana 

Word of caution : if young children are along with you be cautious and dont allow them to touch cactus. Else you will find your self plucking thorns with magnifying glasses :)
